For most people trying to find large women’s shoes, the experience is less than positive. Over the past several years, manufacturers have used the internet to their advantage by going out to read forums, articles, and other media outlets to see what women write about pertaining to shoes. The discovery has allowed shoe designers and makers to create a greater selection of large women’s shoes that fit comfortably but also offer style.

The information taken from comments pertaining to large women’s shoes was quite insightful so we wanted to provide you with some of the information that manufacturers also saw, which ultimately led to an entirely new approach when designing shoes.

• Many women stated that larger women’s shoes are made to meet fashion trends and not for comfort with the primary issue being shoes that are designed with extremely tight or narrow toe boxes that crunch the toes together.

• Comments were also found specific to larger women’s shoes that heels are too high. These women complained that finding a happy medium was near impossible, either the shoes were designed with short heels that were not tall enough or tall heels that made the shoes uncomfortable and even unstable.

• Specific to large women’s shoes, one of the main complaints actually had to do with hip and back pain more than foot pain. With the shoes not providing adequate support, women would walk with an abnormal gait, which lead to pressure being put on the hips and backs causing minor to major pain.

• Large women’s shoes were also commented on pertaining to size, meaning length, and width. Many women found that anything over a size 10 was too hard to find and width options were limited. While finding large women’s shoes in an EE was difficult enough, women that needed size EEEEE would have been impossible years ago.
